Additionally, Bluetooth version 2.1 is installed as standard offering an option to share files and data with compatible devices in the same locality. GPS is included with A-GPS support.

The HTC Desire is equipped with a camera boasting an impressive 5MP. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. Efficient collaboration with clients is essential for any service firm. Traditionally, collaboration has focused on face-to-face meetings, supported by email to share work in progress.

Over the past several years, a new tool has grown in popularity: the client service extranet. While face-to-face meetings remain the most effective (and essential) collaboration tool, extranets have replaced email as the favored forum for sharing and organizing the vast number of documents that are part of all client/agency relationships.

Increasingly, service firms are using extranets as a platform to share work with clients securely and efficiently. They allow clients to log into a secure workspace and access the materials that pertain to them.

An extranet allows clients to:

• Access draft documents for approval or comment
• Preview artwork or multimedia presentations for approval or comment
• Provide important background information from the client before the project begins
• Archive past projects for easy comparison
• Access time and billing information
• Access a log of all project communication
• Reduce the number of or eliminate the need for face-to-face meetings which can make servicing remote clients easier and less expensive

Since most clients are busy people, using an extranet can save both time and frustration for the client and improve the agency's level of service and as a result, the client's overall satisfaction.

How Do You Set Up An Extranet?

You can set up and in-house extranet or purchase a hosted extranet from an application service provider for a monthly fee.

Building an in-house extranet

If you select an in-house implementation, you will need to have an existing intranet infrastructure available. Then you can purchase the necessary equipment and software and either hire or train personnel to maintain the system. The initial cost can be significant and may be beyond the reach of smaller firms.

Building an in-house extranet offer the following advantages and disadvantages compared to using a hosted (ASP) solution:

Advantages

• Complete control of user interface design
• Ability to customize functionality for each client
• Integration into internal systems
• Direct access to all user activity

Disadvantages

• High up-front development cost
• Requires staff expertise in the development of extranets
• Commitment of internal staff for 6 months to a year for planning, execution, review and implementation
• On-going commitment of internal staff for internal and client support, hosting, maintenance and upgrades
• Extensive internal and client training

Using a hosted solution

If you decide to purchase the extranet from an application service provider, you will pay a monthly fee for as long as you use the service. The hosting company provides the infrastructure, security, setup and maintenance of the system. It isn't even necessary for you to have an internal network. Many will also provide training for your staff as well.

Using an Application Service provider (ASP) offers the following advantages and disadvantages compared to using an in-house extranet:

Advantages

• Proven track-record of web-based application
• Low cost of entry and predictable cost over time
• Rapid implementation as quickly as one day
• No internal staff commitment to internal and client support, hosting and maintenance
• Upgrades available at no cost
• Savings on internal server use
• Easier to learn, easier to use

Disadvantages

• Less freedom in user interface design
• Fixed functionality

Whether you choose to build and maintain your own extranet, or choose to use a hosted solution, your firm will streamline client services by providing faster access to critical documents, and by reducing the turn around time for review and approval. Which one you choose will depend on your company's needs and existing resources.

How To Take Advantage Of Your Ipod

Posted by Busines Internet 0 comments

We all know what the Apple iPod is capable of. Of course, one is able to download, store and play an almost infinite number of songs on just about any version of the iPod. And for more advanced users, there are iPods capable of playing movies and videos, and can display pictures as well. Indeed, the iPod is a fantastic item for someone to bring all of their favorite songs and singers with them wherever they go. Yup, the iPod pretty neat in that regard.

So, why would you want to waste the capabilities and abilities of your iPod on stuff you already know and like?

Okay, so there's an absolutely favorite song that you just can't live without and must have with you at all times or else you may just die. That makes sense, so go ahead, put that song on your iPod. But, even though it's easy, effective and enjoyable to plaster your iPod full of familiar songs, that's incredibly boring and bland. It's like going to a high-end car dealer to test drive a Porsche, but you pout with your arms folded because you want to drive a Tempo. What have you got to lose, besides experiencing and discovering something new?

The same principle can apply to the iPod. The iPod is designed to store songs downloaded from a computer onto it. So, take advantage of that and download and listen to every song and artist that you've heard of and wanted to hear. Depending on how you download music, it'll cost you nothing, or it'll cost you about a buck a song. If you're paying for your downloads (good for you), set aside some money for new chances and discoveries.

Remember the old days of buying tapes and CD's? You had to purchase the entire album in order to get the opportunity to listen to it. And, if you found that the artist or album wasn't to your liking – or just plain sucked – well, too bad for you, because most record stores wouldn't take the album back. Many people complained that this wasn't particularly fair, but, hey, that's the way it was.

Now, the technology exists to listen to just about anything you want wherever you want. So, what do most people do? Download the popular song of the day and listen to it non-stop on their iPod, even though it gets played on the radio every 14 seconds. Now, there's nothing wrong with that at all – it's your iPod, do what you want with it. But, the opportunity now presents itself where you can take a chance and discover something you've always wanted to hear, without any risk to you.

Another great thing about the iPod is its portability. If you want to really get to know and understand a particular artist that you're interested in, you can download the songs onto your iPod and listen to them wherever you want, whenever you want. So, you don't have to listen to small sample in a crowded record store, or listen on your computer while you're doing seven other things at the same time. You can get the tracks on your iPod, go for a walk or sit quietly and really immerse yourself and decide if you really like the songs and singers or not.

The iPod is a tremendously convenient and fun device to have. That being said, some people aren't really exploring the limits of their iPod because they don't realize that the iPod is designed to play music – all kinds and forms of music.

Driving simulation is today's latest means of learning how to drive. It is the complete opposite of the traditional driving training approach. It can offer a lot of benefits but unfortunately, many fail to get a hand and enjoy all of those.

Basically, driving simulator training is a driving training that uses a machine. It provides a training environment by imitating real-road scenarios and accepting commands from the trainee. The commands are relayed to the machine via devices, fashioned as car parts, connected to the machine. Examples of those parts are steering wheel and pedals.

Although a driving simulator is best known for training purposes, it also has uses to other fields. As you might already know, it was first used for entertainment specifically on car racing game. First look, you might say that all it offers is enjoyment. However, deeper view of it will reveal that it can help you develop your judgment and reflexes which are needed to be an effective driver.

Apart from using it for entertainment, it is also used in research and even product development. With it, the behaviors and habits of drivers can be studied. That specifically helps in developing driving products just as airbags. It can even help those with authority in regulating rules for road safety.

When used for training, a driving simulator can provide a safe, fast and effective way of learning how to drive. In addition, it can offer you a wide range of right driving knowledge no matter what type of vehicle it is that you want to learn. As has been said though, many still can't get the full of what driving simulation can offer. Here are two general tips that will help you experience every good thing that driving simulation training can give.

  1. Pick well the school to enroll - There are now a lot of driving schools offering driving simulator training. Make a comparison of their rate and features to determine which is the best to enroll. Checking their backgrounds and other trainees reviews can help you with that.
  2. Be prepared for the training - This refers to preparing not only your money but your mind as well. The said modern training can be very effective but only with your help. Open yourself to the things that you will learn. Be perceptive and keen while in training so you can absorb the knowledge that the training is giving you.
There are several good things that training with a driving simulator can bring. However, you should pick well your school and be prepared for the training to experience all those good things.

Samsung Monte Slider E2550 - A Distant Monte Relative

Posted by Busines Internet Sunday, August 15, 2010 0 comments

Samsung recently announced the Monte S520 Touchscreen right about the time the 2010 Mobile World Congress was starting and during the event, there were more Monte handsets unveiled. You now have the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 which as the name suggest carries the slider form factor.

Then there's the candybar model called the Monte Bar C3200. While the touchscreen is something to drool over for an affordable feature-rich handset, the other two in the Monte line straddle the other extreme end of the feature spectrum as probably the most uninteresting pair of handsets ever made.

They're neither a mini nor lite versions but are entirely in a different class, a lower class actually. One wonders why Samsung had to use the Monte name when their alphanumeric designations don't even jibe. We get the suspicion Samsung just wants the splendid aura of the Monte S5620 to rub off on its immensely inferior slider and candybar siblings.

But without a doubt, this is a capable utilitarian handset that we can suspect Samsung could offer as the cheapest handset on the planet. That's about the only way it would have any kind of value for its target markets.

Budget Phone Features
The Monte Slider is a very basic 2G mobile phone on the dual band GMS/GPRS (900/1800). That means it can't get radio telephony coverage in many parts of the planet. It sports a slider form factor body that measures 98.5 x 48.5 x 14.4 mm and weighs in at a mere 85.5 g giving it some claim to be among the lightest slider phones in the market.

Its local data connectivity features include Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 for wireless and wired data transfer needs. There's no SatNav feature to talk about. It sports a rudimentary 1.3 megapixel camera that Samsung must have cannibalized from 5-7 year old unsold camera phones. It has the features of one too like fixed focusing and 15fps QCIF video recording. Your photos taken with it would display nicely on a matching 2-inch TFT LCD QVGA display with 256k colors.

No matter how basic, no handset can appeal to any market segment without some entertainment feature and here, the Monte Slider actually shines with DNSe (Dynamic natural Sound engine) also found on the better Samsung phones as it brings the listening experience to a higher plain with stereo widening and surround simulation.

Apart form the capable media players for popular audio and video files, it has stereo FM radio with RDS and broadcast FM recording. There's also a speaker phone but no 3.5mm headphone jack. You do get Bluetooth A2DP for wireless stereo listening.

Until we read its specs, we could have sworn 12 MB phone memories are a 20th century artifact. But the Monte Slider surprised us here. But you still get a phonebook that supports up to 1,000 entries with photocall and a microSD expansion slot for up to 8 GB. With a minimal feature set, it's no wonder that its 800 mAh Li-Ion battery can deliver up to 6.6 hours of talk time and 16 days of standby time when charged to the max.

Software-wise, the Samsung Monte Slider E2550 claims to be a socially aware handset with social networking apps that allow live updates to your social network sites like Facebook. You also get WAP 2.0 xHTML web browser for surfing though it is doubtful anyone would be surfing on it with a 2-inch screen and slow GPRS speeds.

Things You Should Know About Electronics

Posted by Busines Internet Saturday, August 14, 2010 0 comments

Electronics, as the name suggests is a subpart of science and technology. A controlled motion of electrons is maintained using different mediums. Electrons are referred as the subatomic particle which carries a negative charge and revolves around the nucleus in well defined orbits of an atom. Electronics differs from electricity which deals in the distribution and generation of electrical power.

The electron control function is exhibited by using semiconductor devices. These devices are basically the electronic components which influence the properties of the electrons. The knowledge of these semiconductor devices comes under Physics and the study of Electronics is considered in Electronics Engineering. Other electronic components include the capacitors, resistors, diodes, transistors etc. which affects the electrons and their associated fields. These components are connected together to form a closed loop called a circuit. The circuits could be single or integrated in nature. This circuit builds the path for the electric current to flow.

The circuits and components are usually divided into Analog and Digital Circuits. The difference between both these circuits lies in the continuous range of voltage as opposed to discrete levels of voltage in digital circuits. Examples of analog circuits include Vacuum Tubes, Transistor Amplifiers, Operational Amplifies and Oscillators. Examples of digital circuits are Computers, Electronic Cocks, Programmable Logic Controllers and Digital Signal Processors.

Thermal Management is very necessary in Electronics. The heat generated in the circuits should be controlled in order to ensure the durability and reliability of the device. It is an important phenomenon which needs to be taken care of. There are many cooling techniques used which includes the use of Heat Sinks, Fans and Water Cooling. The concepts of convection, conduction and radiation of heat energy are utilized by these coolant devices.

Another aspect of is the electronic noise. Noise is defined to be an unwanted disturbance which interrupts the normal functioning of a device. These noises could be created electromagnetically or thermally. The noises can be controlled by reducing the operating temperature of the circuit. There are also few noises which cannot be removed and eliminated due to the lack of physical properties. Such noises include the Shot Noise.

The study of circuits is very crucial in Electronics. It involves a lot of calculations like solving linear systems, finding the voltage at a particular node or current through a branch network. Electromagnetic Field theory is also an important area of study in Electronics.

Electronics Engineering involves designing of circuits using building blocks like power supplies, semiconductors and integrated circuits. Great emphasis is also given on Electronic Design Automation software programs. Many companies contribute in building this software for example Oracle. The electronic systems are designed and produced using the EDA tools. It is also called CAD that is computer aided design.

Electronics is a very demanding and successful branch of study. The knowledge in this area manifests the career of many individuals as it covers broad aspects of information. New trends are acknowledged and updated which mainly involve the implementation of technology.
